Companies move to remove plastic straws and bags from their properties

Companies are beginning to act and reduce the 8 million metric tons of plastic that pollute oceans each year. Particularly targeted are plastic straws and single use plastic bags.
Among the companies prompted to act by the pilot whale’s death in Thailand are

A pilot whale that washed ashore in southern Thailand last week, died with a belly full of black plastic bags, almost 8 kgs, which made it sick and unable to hunt for food.
