Since the 1950s there’ve been 9.1 billion metric tons of plastic made. And we’ve thrown most of it away.  A part of that mountain of plastic which is not recycled (9%) nor incinerated (12%), has found its way into the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.?  This is is an accumulation of about 8 Million tons dumped in the ocean every year.?   The bad news is that half of this pollution has been inflicted on the seas and oceans in the last 13 years… And the very bad news: plastic, says the Economist, is a “known unknown”  but isn’t the worst pollutant … see what you think of the article below – then read more about the worst pollutants here (being created).
